Philip David Gosselin...Is a 2007 graduate of Malvern (PA) Prep High School...Attended the University of Virginia, where he earned First-Team All-ACC and Third-Team All-America honors as a junior...Also established a school record with 100 hits in 2009.

2016

Spent first full season in the Majors with Arizona...Led all big league players and set franchise records in pinch-hits (20) and pinch-hit appearances (83)...Went 20-for-77 (.260) with four walks and six RBI as a pinch hitter...Made 35 appearances (21 starts) at second base, 10 appearances (five starts) at third base, six appearances (four starts) at first base, two starts in left field and one appearance in right field (5/24 at Pittsburgh). ..Hit first home run (fifth career) on 4/17 at San Diego...Tied career high with three hits (fourth time) on 7/24 at Cincinnati...Connected off Milwaukee's Michael Blazek for first career pinch-hit home run on 8/7...Recorded his second career walkoff hit (single) on 10/2 vs. San Diego...Ended season with a 57-game errorless streak, dating back to 9/19/15.

Split the season almost equally between Mississippi (AA) and Gwinnett (AAA), playing in 59 games and 58 games, respectively. Also appeared in four games with the Major League club...Batted a combined .254 (108-for-425) with 14 doubles, a pair of triples, three home runs and 38 RBI in 117 games between the two minor league stops...Had his contract purchased on 8/16 vs. WSH and made his Major League debut as a defensive replacement that evening, tallying one putout and two assists on three total chances...Recorded his first Major League hit with an infield single in the second inning off WSH's Gio Gonzalez on 8/18.
